About OHSEI
Safety at Workplace: Our Primary
Concern Safety at workplace is our primary concern. Workers shall neither die nor get
injured at workplace. In reality, annually 2 million workers die as a result of
occupational accidents and others work-related causes and around 30 million
workers suffer work-related causes around the world. The OSHEI (Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Institute) was
established in Bangkok in Cooperation with GUFs and with the support of the
LO/FTF (Denmark) in 2000 and its active operation continued until 2006. This
Home Page succeeds the technical assets of the Institute to be a virtual
information clearance centre for the ITUC-AP affiliates and many associated
organisations. The ITUC-AP believes that every worker has a right to a workplace that is
healthy, safe and free from injury and workers should be given the highest level
of protection against risk to their health and safety. This is an essential part
of decent work for which trade unions, employers and government must work
together.
