The ITUC-AP welcomes the creation of an ITUC-AP OHS committee and its important role in coordinating activities and exchange of best practices on occupational health and safety. It also supports the collecting, analysing, and addressing of different health risks and hazard exposures specific to or more serious and common in women.
It calls on the ITUC-AP to organise research, learning, and dissemination activities to improve knowledge and understanding of women’s specific health concerns, to engage in advocacy and coalition-building strategies with like-minded organisations engaged in improving working conditions and gender equality to advance the women’s health agenda, to monitor follow up action and report to the Regional General Council the progress made in these activities, and to support affiliates in these actions.
