In this resolution, the Founding Conference of the ITUC-AP affirms the need to promote peace based on the United Nations decision and the UN Security Council Resolutions 242-338 calling for the withdrawal of Israeli military forces from the Occupied Palestinian Territories and affirms the right of the Palestinian people to establish their own country on the land which was occupied on June 4, 1967.
The Council calls on all parties to halt violence against civilians, including trade unionists, to achieve lasting peace and democracy in the Middle East while affirming the right of coexistence of Israel and Palestine, as a two-state solution.
