The ITUC-Asia Pacific's expresses its deepest respect and solidarity for the courage and strength of the workers trade unions in Hong Kong. In this resolution, the ITUC-Asia Pacific demands the immediate release of the detained activists and union leaders.
The resolution also condemns the aggressive attacks, threats and intimidation against trade unions, human rights defenders and pro-democracy forces in Hong Kong and urges the authorities to respect of its international human rights obligations and the recommendations of the international treaty bodies such as the conclusions of the ILO Committee of Freedom of Association and the Committee of Application of Standards and UN Human Rights Committee.
