Document
Resolution

Oct 2022

In this resolution, the ITUC-Asia Pacific reiterates its condemnation of the military coup that took place in Myanmar on 1 February 2021 and the crimes against humanity committed by the Myanmar military since the coup. The resolution outlines the atrocities and human rights violations perpetrated by the military junta, particularly those that targeted trade union leaders.

The resolution asserts ITUC-Asia Pacific's commitment to support the campaign on NUG recognition at the UN and bilateral levels as well as the campaign for comprehensive economic sanctions led by CTUM. It also urges authorities to cease the flow of arms as well as fuel, goods and technologies to the military junta for policing, surveillance and military attacks against the protesters and civilians in Myanmar.
