In this Resolution, the 27th Regional General Council welcomed the International Labour Conference’s historic decision to invoke Article 33 of the ILO Constitution, the most severe measure available against a state for failing to comply with a Commission of Inquiry. It condemns the military junta’s planned “sham elections,” urges governments not to recognise the regime or its electoral process, and demands international sanctions, diplomatic isolation, and an end to the supply of weapons and funds that sustain the junta’s violence.
