9th Regional General Council - Republic of Korea Fundamental Rights of Workers

In this resolution, the ITUC-AP condemns the Government of the Republic of Korea for its derecognition of the Korean Teachers and Education Workers Union (KTU/KTCU) on the basis of provisions of the Trade Union and Labor Relations Adjustment Act (TULRAA) which does not observe the core international labor standards. The Council expresses full support towards the KTU/KTCU and workers in Korea in the all-out struggles and in standing against these challenges.

With this, the Council urges the Korean Government to: restore KTU's legal status and guarantee fundamental rights of education workers; stop all anti-union policies;  revise the TULRAA to comply with international labor standards.
