On International Women's Day, Shoya Yoshida, General Secretary of the ITUC-Asia Pacific, sends a message of solidarity to all women and all people, a message of hope and commitment to achieve our shared vision of a peaceful, prosperous, and gender-equal world.
He said:
Empowering women and working people and protecting their rights, in all their diversities and experiences is a rising tide that "lifts all boats." A world of empowered women and workers enjoying their rights to the fullest – this is the kind of future we want to co-create, see, and realise.
He made a commitment to support the trade union movement the trade union movement to advance a gender-equal and inclusive future for everyone to enjoy:
We have much work to do, but you are not alone. ITUC-AP is with you every step of the way. To count everybody in the trade union movement and elsewhere. To amplify the voices of those less heard. To support equality in all its forms and shapes. To work in partnership with others to make this world a better place for women and all people, today and in the next generations.
