ITUC - Asia Pacific Statement on the RCEP

An ITUC-AP statement regarding the deplorable state of the RCEP which, despite having been under negotiations since 2013 among the AEAN Member States and its free trade agreement partners, still has not come into fruition based on the commitments made by engaged countries and the the Guiding Principles and Objectives for Negotiating the RCEP. ITUC-AP makes its opposition to all negotiations and its outcomes clear until the commitment to “foster an open, inclusive, and rules-based trading system, and demonstrate to the world that it is possible to make trade work for all” has been met by negotiating parties.
